Presentation of Galor
GALOR SAS, subsidiary of Groupe Grimaud, based in Amboise in the heart of Touraine, is dedicated to the hatching and genetic selection of guinea fowl.
GALOR SAS, the main hatchery operator in the guinea fowl sector, sells nearly eight million label and standard guinea fowl broiler annually. These birds come from four sites, located in Souvigny de Touraine (Indre-et-Loire, 37), Amboise (Indre-et-Loire, 37) and La Chapelle-Glain (Loire Atlantique, 44), which provide eggs to be hatched in the Amboise hatchery. Independent farmers in the departments of Deux-Sèvres (79) and Loir-et-Cher (41) complete this arrangement.
The company is the world leader in guinea fowl selection with its Essor and Galor strains, breeders are sold in France and abroad.
Selection activities are spread across two sites, in Amboise (Indre-et-Loire, 37) and in La Chapelle-Glain (Loire Atlantique, 44). This allows us to maximise selection intensity and to accelerate genetic improvement. Geographic distance between the sites ensures security, particularly hygiene, for the entire guinea fowl sector.
GALOR SAS is a member of Comité Interprofessionnel de la Pintade (Interprofessional Committee for Guinea Fowl), and belongs to the unions Syndicat National des Accouveurs (National Association of the Hatcheries) and Syndicat des Sélectionneurs Avicoles et Aquacoles Français (French Poultry and Aquaculture Breeders Association).
GALOR SAS strives to promote guinea fowl in France and abroad.
